The desired laneway location currently accommodates multiple businesses in the spacious 276sqm retro warehouse. Prime location due to nearby parking and 7-day foot traffic.
Brief
1.5 Bar & Restaurant concept was a design response that showcased a conceptual design narrative, brand experience, and spatial response for a new hospitality venture for Chris Lucas, owner of Chin Chin, Kisume, Hawker Hall, Baby, Kong BBQ, GoGo Bar, and many more.
Lucas is driven by a philosophy that great food; service and ambiance should not be available to an exclusive minority who can afford it. He believes that it should be accessible to all in a fun environment that is seeking to always innovate.
1.5 Bar & Restaurant is a response to Chris Lucas's advocacy towards Covid and the effects that abrupt lockdowns have on the hospitality industry.
1.5 design follows covid safe requirements following covid safe measures and HVAC filtration system.
The vision is to create an escape while being adaptive to the pandemic using domes and VR technology and projectors where they can transport themselves to different environments and experience their food in a different way that enhances the flavour and overall experience.
1.5 was designed to be an escape while we couldn't escape.
